Large single-storey extension with other internal alterations and improvements to the existing semi-detached dwelling.

The brief was to create a series of living spaces to the rear of the house that engaged better with the garden: allowing more natural light to enter the rear of the property; framing views out to the garden; and providing flexible spaces that could spill out onto the new terrace. A separate utility space was also proposed, serving the kitchen with access directly from the side of the property.

A contemporary palette of high- quality materials have been adopted, including slim-framed metal windows, doors and rooflights. The proposals were designed to exceed building regulation compliance for thermal efficiency and air tightness.

The scheme has now commenced on site.
